BUSINESS EXPENSES

 
  • Business mortgage or rent payments

  • Property/Building maintenance fees

  • Critical business services or operations software

  • Utility payments

  • Business-related health, property and casualty, and liability insurance payments

  • Salaries or wages of all business employees

  • Purchase of safety supplies/materials for employees

  • Assistance to create jobs and expand microenterprises that provide medical, food delivery, cleaning, and other services to support home health and quarantine

  • Financial assistance for business stabilization including business license fees, and payroll payments

  • Assistance to avoid job loss caused by business closures related to social distancing

  • A minimum of 51% of owners of the business must fall in
    the Low-to-Moderate Income level (chart will be provided).

  • The business must be a privately held for-profit business operating in a commercial facility in the City of Buffalo.

  • The business must provide goods and services to multiple people or other businesses within the City of Buffalo.

  • The business must have been in operation before September 1, 2020

  • The business must employ a maximum of five (5) individuals including owner(s).

  • The business and all owners must be up to date on all payments and taxes owed to the City of Buffalo.

  • A minimum of 51% of owners must reside in the City of Buffalo.

  • The business must not be in receivership or bankruptcy.

The primary objective is to minimize long-term economic hardship to microenterprise businesses (fewer than 5 employees) in the City of Buffalo, which may result from the COVID-19 pandemic and to provide immediate financial relief. The Program will target those businesses most heavily impacted by the pandemic. Eligible businesses may receive a maximum of $10,000.00 per business to go towards business expenses incurred on or after April 1, 2020. Technical assistance will be offered to help maximize the value of the award.

Receipts for expenses must be
submitted within 90 days of
grant disbursement being
received.
